Sometimes you just have to get away. It's Summer and the heat and humidity are taking their toll and you are looking for a little sanctuary close by where you can just free your mind of the shakles.

There's lots of places in New York where you can Escape from New York. How about bike riding on Governors Island or a free round trip on the Staten Island Ferry with the Summer breeze in your hair. Maybe a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to the beach at Dumbo with the Manhattan skyline as your backdrop.... you just escaped!!...

The peace and serenity of Glen Island, an oasis hidden inplain sight.... go fishin, swim, sail, ride a bike, throw a picnic, light up thr bar-b-que, hit the jet ski, or just lay back and soak up the rays....... you just escaped.!!....

Tarrytown Ny, just a short ride up along the Hudson River via the Metro North train. The area is some times called "the Tarrytowns", which covers Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, just up the street, yeah that Sleepy Hollow that Washington Irving wrote about. It's a quaint little river town within easy reach of Manhattan, which is why a lot of people commute into the city from here. Only a couple main streets but lots of great things to see, from the lakes, the mansard roofed homes of the past to the many parks, green spaces and bike trails. It's an honest little place, free of big crime, and big problems, great for familys and those that seek a quieter side of living.
